For the first year Co-Innovate and Designplus, along with the Placement and Careers Centre from Brunel University combined forces with the Made in Brunel Team to create a ‘Business Hub’ at the annual exhibition (13-16 June) at the Bargehouse, on the South Bank of London. This collaboration between three areas of Brunel University, which connect industry with students, academics and the university, through collaborations, research or placements and graduates, helped provide a platform for industry to discover what the university has to offer businesses.
The hub was a great success with the space being used for interacting with industry, workshops, business meetings and interviews. We were even lucky enough to be given a supply of drinks from Coca Cola Enterprises Ltd, whom we have worked with on a number of collaborative projects in the past few years.

Co-Innovate – This is an exciting new innovation support programme for London-based SME’s. This programme is jointly funded by Brunel University and the European Regional Development Fund and will provide innovation support to 150 London-based SME’s by helping them access and utilise the academic expertise within Brunel University.
Designplus – Designplus has been leading events, facilitating projects, offering professional development courses and matchmaking people with a shared interest in the economic value of design since 2004. We don’t just want to talk about these things, but we want to make a practical impact and difference. Our clients include leading multinational includingMarks & Spencer, BT, Jaguar-Land Rover, Heinz, Sony, NCR and many others. We also work with individuals with great design ideas, start-ups, Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and charities to provide applied design support for product and service innovation.
Placement and Careers Centre (PCC) – Brunel University’s award winning Placement and Careers Centre offers a comprehensive range of services to ensure your organisation maximises the potential talent available at Brunel through part-time/term-time work, work placement and graduate recruitment.
